One Year Out

My last spring quarter was filled with random adventures like posing in front of the LACMA lights after eating at BCD's after Nancy's recital, followed by the classic late-night cruise down Wilshire. Good times.

Ok technically a year plus two months out, but yeah it’s been a little over a year since I was living the college life with you guys at UCLA. Feels like it was so long ago doesn’t it? It sure does for me. I can’t succinctly summarize the feelings of back then, but I do clearly remember my last few weeks with you guys. We were getting one last hangout or reunion together at all our usual places: Red Mango, BCD’s, Urth Café, Ami’s Sushi, Chili’s, and the McCormick’s on Rodeo Drive. “Love in the Club” by Usher was the hit song at the Hollywood clubs. And we were balancing our social lives between a mix of college apartment parties and happy hours at yuppie places like Palomino in preparation for our impending life transition.

Since then, I’ve completed an around-the-world trip (summer of 2008) and an Asia trip (summer of 2009), plus some domestic travel (NYC, Dallas, Austin, California). And I’ve been very entrenched into my professional and social life in the Bay Area and I am having quite a good time up here. I was going to write some thoughts about the different perspectives on life one year out, but instead I’ll just direct you to my monthly “Personal Lessons” notes and numerous photo albums if you want to get a sense of what I’ve been experiencing.

Anyway, I tagged you since you were one of my closest friends toward the end of senior year at UCLA. Fortunately for me, I’ve actually had a chance to hang out with most of you on this tagged list at least once since I’ve graduated. Now that I look at it, I’ve been in contact with most of you and only lost touch with a few. So it’s not like I’m nostalgically reaching out to old college buddies; most of you are still my good friends. I guess what I really wanted to do is just check in and see how everything is going on your end and what adventures life has taken you recently if I haven’t talked to you in the past few months. Hope everything is going well!
